Iziko Safaris is a locally owned and operated tour company based in the iconic town of Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. The name “Iziko” is derived from the Ndebele word meaning “a place of fire,” symbolizing a place where people gather during the winter to share stories, pass down wisdom, and connect with one another. Inspired by this cultural tradition, Iziko Safaris was founded to create meaningful travel experiences that bring people together, connect them with nature, and immerse them in authentic African culture.
We specialize in crafting personalized safari and cultural tours for small groups, families, and friends. Whether you are visiting Zimbabwe for the first time or are a seasoned traveler, Iziko Safaris ensures that every experience is memorable, enriching, and respectful of the environment.

Weather
Victoria Falls has a tropical climate with three main seasons:
Hot & Wet (Nov–Mar): Expect warm to hot temperatures (25–34°C) with afternoon showers and thunderstorms. This is also the green season, with lush landscapes and great birdwatching.
The dry season (June–October) is best for wildlife spotting because animals gather around rivers and waterholes. Visibility is excellent, and roads are more accessible.
Yes, it’s safe. The rains mostly come as short afternoon showers, leaving plenty of time for activities. However, some dirt roads may become slippery, and river-based activities may vary depending on water levels.
Rainy season (Nov–Mar): Lightweight clothes, rain jacket/poncho, waterproof bag for electronics.
Dry cool season (Apr–Aug): Light layers for the day, warm clothes for early mornings and evenings.
Hot dry season (Sept–Oct): Very light breathable clothing, sunhat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
