Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Iziko Safaris. By booking a tour, safari, or related service with us, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. These terms form a binding agreement between Iziko Safaris (Pty) Ltd (“we,” “our,” or “us”) and the client (“you,” “your,” or “the traveler”).


  1. Booking and Payment

1.1. A booking is only confirmed once a deposit has been received and a confirmation invoice has been issued by Iziko Safaris.
1.2. A non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total tour cost is required to secure your reservation.
1.3. The balance payment must be made no later than 30 days before the tour departure date.
1.4. For bookings made within 30 days of departure, full payment is required upon confirmation.
1.5. Payments may be made via bank transfer or other approved payment methods. Any bank charges or transfer fees are the responsibility of the client.


  1. Pricing and Surcharges

2.1. All prices are quoted in [USD / ZAR / local currency] unless otherwise stated.
2.2. Prices are based on current rates, taxes, and fuel costs and are subject to change without prior notice.
2.3. Iziko Safaris reserves the right to adjust prices to reflect changes in local taxes, park fees, fuel surcharges, or currency fluctuations.


  1. Cancellations and Refunds

3.1. All cancellations must be made in writing via email to Iziko Safaris.
3.2. Cancellation fees apply as follows:

More than 60 days before departure: Deposit forfeited.

31–60 days before departure: 50% of total tour cost.

15–30 days before departure: 75% of total tour cost.

14 days or less before departure: 100% of total tour cost (no refund).
3.3. No refunds will be made for unused portions of the tour, including meals, activities, or accommodation.
3.4. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation, medical expenses, and loss of personal property.


  1. Amendments by the Client

4.1. Requests to change travel dates or itineraries after booking confirmation will be subject to availability and may incur an amendment fee.
4.2. Significant changes (e.g., rescheduling less than 30 days before departure) may be treated as a cancellation and rebooking.


  1. Amendments by Iziko Safaris

5.1. Iziko Safaris reserves the right to make minor changes to itineraries, accommodations, or activities where necessary due to weather, safety concerns, or other factors beyond our control.
5.2. In the unlikely event of a major change (such as cancellation of a tour), you will be notified as soon as possible and offered:

A substitute tour of equal or higher value, or

A full refund of all monies paid.
5.3. Iziko Safaris is not liable for additional costs or losses incurred due to flight cancellations, strikes, weather, or other causes beyond our control.


  1. Travel Insurance

6.1. Travel insurance is mandatory for all clients participating in any Iziko Safaris tour.
6.2. Your insurance must cover personal accident, medical expenses, repatriation, loss of luggage, and cancellation.
6.3. Proof of insurance may be requested prior to departure.


  1. Health, Safety, and Conduct

7.1. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are medically fit for travel.
7.2. Iziko Safaris reserves the right to refuse participation to any person whose behavior or physical condition poses a risk to themselves or others.
7.3. Clients must comply with all safety instructions provided by guides and staff. Failure to do so may result in removal from the tour without refund.


  1. Liability and Responsibility

8.1. Iziko Safaris acts only as an agent for hotels, lodges, transport companies, and other service providers.
8.2. We are not liable for injury, illness, loss, damage, delay, or inconvenience caused by negligence, acts of God, war, civil unrest, or other events beyond our control.
8.3. Participation in safari activities (including walking safaris, game drives, and adventure excursions) is at the client’s own risk.
8.4. You agree to indemnify Iziko Safaris against any claims arising from your participation in such activities.


  1. Passport, Visas, and Vaccinations

9.1. It is your responsibility to ensure that you possess valid travel documents, visas, and vaccination certificates (if required).
9.2. Iziko Safaris will not be held responsible for any consequences resulting from failure to comply with immigration, health, or customs regulations.


  1. Wildlife and Environmental Policy

10.1. Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed; nature is unpredictable.
10.2. Iziko Safaris promotes responsible tourism and expects all clients to respect wildlife, local communities, and the environment.


  1. Complaints and Disputes

11.1. Any complaints must be brought to the attention of the tour guide or company representative immediately.
11.2. If not resolved on-site, written complaints must be submitted within 14 days after the tour ends.
11.3. Disputes shall be governed by the laws of Zimbabwe and any legal proceedings shall take place in that jurisdiction.


  1. Privacy Policy

12.1. Iziko Safaris respects your privacy. Any personal information collected is used solely for the purpose of fulfilling your booking and will not be shared with unauthorized third parties.


  1. Acceptance of Terms

By confirming your booking and making payment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
